Blog Entry 1 .... Sonia Carrasco English 101

Why does the Film -Noir seems  to  only  be  appealing to a limited audience?, why  isn't  it  something that it is enjoyed world wide on daily basis like the new projects of the  film  industry ?. There  could be different reasons  for that. One of them could  be money wise,  perhaps it  could  cost less to make a  black  and  white  movie but  due  to  the lack  of  audience , it  would  also  make less money, and  due to  that  reason  Big  directors  don't  see it as a profitable business  which   eventually causes  them  to  turn against  this type of  film. Another reason  could  be  the lack of  color, yes  it's agreeable that, that is   the whole point of   Noir classics but the new  generations  are  only interested in  what  catches   their  eyes at first glance so  the lack of  color might  make them  appear  boring or uninteresting. other important aspect  could be the sound and  special  effects used  on this movies, usually in the  Noir  classics  you hear the  same  sound  effect in  all the movies, so  when  you hear a shot  in one movie  you  hear  the  same effect  in   another  10  different  movies  which causes  it  to be less appealing  some  may argue it  fells  like you are  watching the same movie over  and over again. on the other hand  modern  movies  are made  with more technology  than  actual  acting, the new  technology  lets  the directors  create  everything from a  sound  effect  to a  full  action scene  with  just a computer, no need for  stunt doubles , and  also   since  there is no color and everything  seems   shadowy and obscure   it might  seem like  everything  is  staged  in the  same place  which  gives  us  the notion that  there is  very   little  variety. That  is  the  reasons  I believe the Noir  classics  don't seem  to  be enjoyed by everyone.
